We have been to Playa Costa Verde seven times. We have been on all the set trips using the Tour operator. However, on our latest visit, we decided to go into Holguín for the evening on our own schedule and without the limitations of a set trip. What better way to visit Holguín than going in a 1950s Classic car! Our trip far surpassed anything we expected. Yuri provided us with an exceptional amount of local and Cuban knowledge. We visited places we had not seen before and experienced some of the real Cuba with the advantage of having our own personal local guide. We felt safe at all times and our whole experience was the best we have had in Cuba.
Nothing was too much trouble for Yuri – and he was respectful and polite and allowed us to have the time of our life in the knowledge that he was “keeping an eye out for us” without being too conspicuous. We felt that we had a dedicated VIP cultural experience – with a nightclub thrown in! And unbelievably, the cost was a fraction of the organized trips – so excellent value for money! Yuri will be the first phone number I call on our return to Cuba next time!! He’s a great guy and a fantastic guide!
